RIO DE JANEIRO 2016

Paralympics is adding two new sports to the lineup for 2016. Para-canoe and paratriathalon will debut in Rio de Janeiro.  There will be three medal events for both men and women nearly identical to canoeing for able bodies athletes.

The paratriathalon event features a 750 meter swim, a 20 kilometer run and three of the five classification for cycles will be included.  Men's PT1 (wheelchair/handcycle), men's and women's PT 4 (limb deficiencies, impaired muscle strength or range of movement).
